Making a hedgehog out of candy with your own hands in a step-by-step master class

Making a hedgehog with your own hands in this way is quite simple. For this we need:

• Polystyrene foam (penoplex) measuring 20 by 10 centimeters;
• Corrugated paper in gold, white or silver;
• Toothpicks;
• Scotch;
• Hot glue;
• Organza;
• Nail file and stationery knife, scissors;
• Candies to taste (preferably round);
• Jewelry for decoration.

Making the hedgehog's body:

1. We take foam plastic and mark on it the shape of the future hedgehog (rounded with an elongated, curved nose);
2. We cut out the hedgehog blank with a stationery knife and smooth out the unevenness with a nail file;
3. We wrap the hedgehog’s body in beautiful corrugated paper and glue it with hot glue;

We make pound cakes from organza.

In order to secure the candies, we will need small fabric bags.

1. Cut the colored organza into squares with sides of 12 centimeters;
2. Fold it in half, but slightly offset, and drip a little drying hot glue onto the side;
3. Place a toothpick on the glue and fold the fabric in half around it again (you can use 2 organza squares at a time for more volume).

Let's make a hedgehog.

1. Having made a sufficient number of pounds, we begin decorating the hedgehog;
2. We stick toothpicks into the back of the workpiece and fasten the candies inside them (you need to fasten them tightly so that the candies do not fall). If necessary, you can secure it with a small amount of glue and decorate the hedgehog with doll eyes and beads.

You can buy an appetizing gift in a store or order it online, but there is also a beautiful alternative - make it yourself.

A candy hedgehog is a strange design option for sweets. Thanks to detailed master classes, anyone can easily make it themselves. Give such a gift to your child, and he will receive not only his favorite candies, but also an exciting and strange toy.

Composition options

A few examples from experienced craftsmen will help you make a bouquet of lollipops with your own hands even more impressive and attractive. There are quite a lot of design options. With the help of additional elements you can make an unusually attractive and useful bouquet.

Additional elements for the composition:

• 
  various beads, they are glued to the petals or to the paper framing the bouquet;

• heart-shaped craft - a heart is cut out of cardboard. It is covered with red colored paper. A skewer is attached to it, which is also decorated with red paper. A bow is tied at the base. The heart is inserted into the bouquet. It should protrude above the flowers;
• tiny plush soft toys - one or more toys are placed in a bouquet. To make them hold tighter, it is best to glue them to a skewer;
• decorative elements in the form of butterflies, snowflakes, birds, fir branches, berries;
• other candies.

It is not recommended to use additional materials all together. It is better to add one or two items of the same theme to the bouquet, which will complement each other.

Master class - making a hedgehog out of candy

To make such a craft, no special knowledge is required; therefore, children can also be involved in the work, for whom it will not only be exciting, but also joyful.

Necessary materials to make a hedgehog:

• Styrofoam;
• Metallized paper of gold color, although you can choose a different color if desired;
• Crepe paper;
• Chocolate candies having a round and rectangular shape;
• Toothpicks, tape;
• Hot glue gun;
• Buttons or beads for the nose and eyes;
• Floral packaging;
• Artificial flowers and various decorations.

Detailed master class for making a hedgehog

• It’s worth starting with the formation of the animal’s body. To do this, you need to take polystyrene foam and cut out an oval. The length should be approximately 18 cm and the width 13 cm. After this, remove the layer from below so that the figure does not wobble and stands level on the table. Using a sharp knife, cut out a muzzle with a pointed nose. In general, it is necessary to obtain a body that is as close as possible in outline to the figure of a hedgehog;
• Now, using a glue gun, cover the muzzle with golden metallic paper and the body with crepe paper. Do everything carefully so that there are no folds.
• Using buttons and a bead, make the animal's eyes and nose. An impeccable option if you take these parts from an old toy. Their size does not matter, the main thing is that it is beautiful. In this case, a homemade candy hedgehog will look as realistic as possible;
• Let's move on to body decoration. Take floral film of any color or use several options at once. You need to make blanks from it. Cut squares measuring 13x13 cm. Take two multi-colored squares and place them on top of each other to form an octagon. Using an awl, carefully make a hole in the center and insert a toothpick into it. Gather the film to create the appearance of a beautiful flower and secure it with tape. Smooth out thoroughly and set aside. According to this scheme, continue to make blanks with your own hands, as a result there should be 45 pieces;
• When everything is ready, start inserting toothpicks into the body of the hedgehog. First, make one row and move on to another, the one that needs to be moved a little so that there are no voids. One more clarification - make sure that the film does not cover your eyes, therefore the 1st row should be 2 cm higher from them;
• At the end, it is recommended to tip the hedgehog over and insert toothpicks with film into each area. This will not only allow you to get a smooth bottom, but also increase stability. In general, the entire body of the animal, with the exception of the muzzle, should be covered with filmy flowers. The hedgehog already looks very beautiful, but now we will “sweeten” it. Using a glue gun, attach the candies to the toothpicks. It is important that they are level and not wobble. Later, distribute the candy over each hedgehog's body.
