Prepare your fabric. You can take several large scraps and combine them, creating an original masterpiece according to your own ideas

To make your vacation bright and memorable for a long time, you need to take care of your comfort in advance. Bright, stylish and comfortable accessories are of great importance, including a beach bag.

As usual, “our light industry” offers standard and boring models made of durable, but heavy and wrinkled fabrics. Designer unusual bags are very expensive. So why don’t we show our imagination ourselves and sew one, or even better, several creative bags?

Our choice is a spacious, light and bright bag that can easily be transformed into a rug. A bag-mat is usually rectangular in shape. Therefore, you will need two rectangles of companion fabrics that match or contrast. One side can be made of light waterproof fabric, the other - thin terry or denser cotton knitted fabric. The size of the rectangles is 180 x 75 centimeters (seam allowances and liner thickness are taken into account). However, the dimensions may be smaller, in accordance with the dimensions of the vacationer.

The liner between the rectangles is thin foam rubber, for the handles you will need braid, 1.5 meters, 2 - 3 cm wide. Sew pockets on the front side, do not forget to close the cuts with braid. Make belt loops from the braid, 6 pieces of 7 centimeters each (the allowance is taken into account), sew them on the front side in pairs at the top, bottom and in the middle. Fold the fabric facing inward, stitch on three sides, insert foam rubber on the fourth side and stitch too. To fix the liner, stitch it to the base at the folds.

Make handles from the remaining braid, threading them through the harnesses and wrapping around the bottom. It is desirable that their length can be adjusted - to do this, use fittings from an old unnecessary bag or buy the same new one. For a model with zippers, the outer sections need to be folded inward, and two zippers and shorter handles must be sewn to the middle ones, from 40 centimeters, but not more than the width of the foam rubber.

If you prefer a more classic option, you can sew a simple bag in the form of a package. You don’t need to cut anything, make the markings directly on the fabric, use leather, eco-leather, nylon. With zippers and Velcro on the sides, the bag can be easily unfolded and folded.

Origami lovers will be interested in a folding bag in which nothing needs to be sewn except the outer and inner sides, pockets and handles. This is an origami bag. It is assembled using buttons and loops or snaps.

Eastern craftswomen have come up with many schemes for folding such bags. The basis is always simple geometric shapes, but the bags are so original that no one would assume the absence of a complex cut. When unfolded, this bag can also be used as a beach mat.

And in a model made of thick knitwear, you don’t even need a needle at all. A regular T-shirt with the top cut off will work as a base bag. We bend the lower part up, insert a bright cord into the holes made with scissors, and tie the ends with a knot.

Fold the top part, make holes, thread the cord and tighten it like a bag. Or simply fold it into a flap, attaching a ribbon handle to the sides. To decorate the fabric, use acrylic paints, apply the pattern using stamping (we will tell you how to do this in the following publications). If the T-shirt had a pattern, get a finished original item.

Every girl's wardrobe contains forgotten items, such as old denim trousers. A hand-sewn beach bag made from jeans will be an original design solution. In addition, such dense material will protect things from sand and moisture.

If your favorite trousers can no longer be used, and it’s a pity to throw them away, then they are perfect for sewing a bag. Old jeans will last for many years. For sewing you will need the following materials:

threads (they should match the color of the fabric);
jeans;
a strip of bright fabric measuring 40x120 cm;
eyelets with rivets.

After transferring the pattern to the fabric, you need to cut off the trouser leg and undo the side seam on one side. The same steps must be done with the second pant leg.

Next, parts from old jeans are folded with the right side inward. Then they need to be sewn on a sewing machine, stepping back exactly 1 cm from the cut. One side is left unsewn. Each dart is folded in half perpendicular to the seam itself and stitched on a sewing machine. The master class recommends making a dart on both sides of the bag using one seam. After this, the product is turned right side out.

Pockets are cut out and sewn along the side seam line on both sides. The position can be chosen arbitrarily.

Next, cut out a strip of contrasting fabric (size 7x120 cm) and process the sections to create a ruffle. The belt is cut off from the trousers. We sew a ruffle from contrasting fabric directly under the cut of the belt (the fabric should “peek out” by 3-4 cm). This detail is sewn to the top of the beach bag as an applique.

It is best to weave handles for a bag from old jeans using twisted cord weaving technology. The end of each handle is wrapped in leftover denim.

They are sewn to the inside of the beach accessory. At her discretion, a girl can decorate her bag with a variety of rivets and eyelets. The master class recommends placing them on parts from a belt from old trousers. After the final stage of work, the girl can safely go to the beach or for a walk with a new thing.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated about this. However, if you find it difficult to draw the details of the product on paper yourself, you can use ready-made templates.

Also prepare scissors, threads to match the top material and a needle. Follow these steps:

Cut the braid into 8 pieces of 5 cm each - these are the ties that will be on the side

Sew two parts of the bag - the top and the inside. Leave one edge unstitched so you can insert foam.
