How to make a paper valentine with your own hands for February 14th?

The Day of Love and Valentine is that beautiful holiday when special preparation is needed. Yes, I want to give and receive bright, expensive and generous gifts. But even a simple card will decorate the holiday if it is “secured” with true feelings, warmth of the soul and love! I won’t be able to tell you how to make these feelings, but I will be happy to show you how to make that very postcard yourself that your family and loved ones will like!

I also suggest making a heart, or beautiful crafts for Valentine's Day, which can be a great gift for your loved ones. Let me remind you that we previously made original valentines, so if you don’t find the perfect card in this article, then follow the link.

DIY Valentine's Day card made from paper

Is it difficult to design a three-dimensional heart? Not difficult at all! You just need to know a couple of secrets: how to draw a semi-pixelated heart, and then where to make the cuts. But I’ll tell you about all this!

Fold the postcard blank in half. Mark the middle of the postcard.

Draw a 1cm horizontal line exactly in the middle.

From this line on both edges we draw 2 vertical lines upward. Each of them is 1 cm.

Next we draw “steps” 1 cm horizontally and upward. You need 3 such steps in each direction.

From the upper steps we draw horizontal lines of 2 cm (we do everything on one side and the other with mirror precision).

And again we make steps, only we draw 1 cm down and to the sides (from left to left, from right to right).

We make 3 steps on both sides.

From the last step we lower the lines 6cm each.

From the bottom point we draw a line 1 cm to the middle of the figure.

Now we draw a line of 4 cm. The edge of the line drops 1 cm below the “step” and raises it by 4 cm.

We make 6 steps on both sides and a seventh in the middle, connecting both sides.

From below we make cuts only along vertical lines.

In the upper part we cut all the lines except the two upper horizontal lines, each 2 cm, leaving them uncut.

We bend the structure, the top step and the bottom steps in this order (from top to bottom): at the very top - inward, the next row - outward. At the beginning of the 4cm lines, bend them outward, and at the very bottom, bend them inward.

Now let's see what happened! You just need to bend the card along the middle line, and we will get a voluminous heart.

Also a pink heart. Very simple and original, right? By the way, just below there is a ready-made template for such a heart.

Card with roses made of corrugated paper

You can use another interesting option for making a valentine card with your own hands at home. You can resort to corrugated paper. You can make excellent roses from it, as in the photo below.

Let me show you how you can make a gift not only for Valentine's Day, but also for March 8th or Birthday.

Scheme of work:

  1. We will need polystyrene foam, from which we need to cut a heart about three centimeters thick. 2. Take a kebab stick (thick toothpick) or a regular pencil and stick it into the cut out heart. Wraps ribbon around a pencil (stick). Take a small bucket or small jar and decorate it with cloth. After this, we take the stick with the heart and put it in the jar, and so that it holds normally, you can pour plaster into the jar.

    3. Now we take glue or liquid nails, corrugated paper and a gel pen (only the rod will be needed).

    4. Now we do as indicated in the figure below:

    5. We stick the rod into rectangularly cut pieces of paper, as indicated in the photo, and crumple them a little. 6. Now we apply glue on top of the head and glue it to the foam heart on top.

7. Then repeat similar steps until you get a heart shape like the one shown below. In this way you can make such a beautiful craft that will be fluffy and voluminous.

In case anyone found this difficult. Or you don’t have time to make such crafts. I give you options for valentine cards to print on a printer.

These are the interesting and original ideas I shared with you. I hope that at least one of the options suits you. See you soon, dear readers.

DIY Valentine's card for children on February 14

This card has a secret message! To read it, you need to connect the halves of the heart! But now I’ll show you how to make these halves.

We pull out the strip and see the secret message. You can come up with your own message. Depending on the size of the postcard, it may be larger or smaller.

We need paper measuring 11 by 5 cm.

We draw vertical stripes on the workpiece, departing 1 cm from the left edge, and 2 cm from the right.

In the middle we draw a rectangle 1 cm wide.

We round the corners of the rectangle at one end. And we cut out this strip inside the workpiece.

Glue half of the heart to the right edge of the cut out area.

We place a strip of 12 by 2 cm under the workpiece.

And grease the left edge of this strip with glue. Glue the other half of the heart to this edge.

On the back side of the workpiece we cover the edge with double-sided tape. Glue a white strip of paper 11 by 5 cm to it.

When the halves of the heart are connected, a window opens inside the blank in which you can leave a message!

We cut off the corners of the protruding edge of the strip. This card will be a real surprise!

DIY paper valentine

I think in any home you can find such material as paper. Any child or adult can make paper crafts. The main thing is to take this matter seriously.

Method No. 1

Let's look at the option of making valentines for two halves at once, for example, for a husband and wife, and then place this handicraft above your bed.

Materials for production:

  • 1 piece of paper;
  • dye;
  • ribbons;
  • scissors.

Stages of work:

  1. You need to dip your fingers and palms in the diluted paint, and then lean your palms against the sheet. That is, make palm and fingerprints so that they resemble a heart.
  2. After you have done step one, then cut out a small hole with small scissors and thread a ribbon through it.

Method No. 2
The second method will require improvised means to make a valentine. You will need to take pink or red cardboard, as well as some colored paper. You will also need a little glue, as well as a pencil and stationery scissors.

Materials for production:

  • Red cardboard - 1 piece;
  • Pink sheet of colored paper - 1 piece;
  • Stationery scissors, pencil and glue.

Scheme of work:

  1. Take a red piece of cardboard and fold it in half, then cut out a heart. Next, we take colored paper, cut it into thin strips, and then make more small cuts on the strips, as if making small grass. Then we twist these cut strips on a pencil. Next, we unfold strips of colored paper from a pencil and make small flowers out of them. 2. After this, we glue the made flowers onto the cardboard and, if desired, they can be decorated with glitter or something else. It all depends on your imagination. This is how you get an original and beautiful valentine with your own hands. This craft can please your mother, sister or other loved one.

Method No. 3

Here is another way to make a heart-shaped postcard using a regular stencil. Your significant other will love these valentines.

Here's another creative idea that I really liked. You can also make a variant of weaving paper strips in it:

But the fantasy shouldn’t end there either. After all, everyone can come up with their own version of patterns. The main thing is not to be afraid to create, because there is nothing complicated here. I was also pleased with these stencil options. These options are called interlaced paper hearts. Such crafts can be decorated with various decorations, and you can also use letters, rhinestones and more.

Valentine's Day greeting card in English

Secret message! That's what this postcard hides! It's always nice to receive such a surprise. This option can accommodate a large message. The postcard itself looks like an envelope. You need to pull the corner and it will open, and there is a letter. But now I’ll tell you and show you how to make it with your own hands.

Place an A4 sheet of paper horizontally on the table. We bend it in half.

We bend all 4 corners diagonally to the middle line.

We bend the lower and upper edges of the sheet towards the middle.

We bend the corners on the sides.

On the other hand it's the same.

Turn the workpiece over with the flat side up. We write a message on a postcard and draw hearts.

We fold the workpiece (into 3 parts), folding one and the second edge to the top.

Then a second time. Iron the folds well.

We insert one edge into the second.

We receive an envelope.

We decorate the card with hearts and inscriptions. Don't forget to write "Pull" on the corner.

Postcard and envelope, 2 in 1, ready! The man pulls the corner.

And inside is a touching message! Here are some examples:

Happy Valentine's Day!Happy Valentine's Day!
Be my loved one, be my Valentine!Be my (my) beloved, be my (them) Valentina (Valentine)!
Be my Valentine for the rest of my life.Be my Valentine for the rest of my life!
You are and will always be my Valentine.You are and will always be my Valentine!
You are my true love, and you will always be my Valentine.You are my true love and you will always be!!!
I love loving you. Happy Valentine's day! I love loving you! Happy Valentine's Day!

And a slightly longer message:

You make my heart sing and lift it to new heights! It's time to celebrate love! You make my heart sing and soar in the skies! It's time to celebrate love!
Dearest sweetheart, you are a haven for my heart and a refuge for my soul, Happy Valentine's Day!Darling, you are a haven for my heart and a refuge for my soul, Happy Valentine's Day!
I consider myself the luckiest person on Earth it's because I own the most precious jewel in the whole universe, and that is you, my love. Happy Valentine's Day! I consider myself the luckiest person on Earth because I own the most precious stone in the entire universe, and that is you, my love. Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day my darling! I promise to love you today, tomorrow and forever… up to the day I die. Happy Valentine's Day, my beloved! I promise to love you today, tomorrow and always... until the last day of my life.

Beautiful valentine for a friend

A “living” card that can be unfolded and folded, and shown like a film with confessions of warm feelings. Let's try to make such a miracle? We will need many, many hearts!

This is how it will turn through the pages - very beautiful, right?

Cut out multi-colored hearts (7 pieces) of the same size on a 7 by 7 cm square.

For the base, take a rectangle 7 by 29 cm. Place the heart on the edge of the base. Mark the edge of the heart.

We measure 1cm from this mark in one direction and the other.

We make 6 more marks to the middle of the workpiece every centimeter, draw lines. There should be 8 lines in total.

We bend the base along the lines. We attach a heart to each line (except the very first one) and outline its upper edge.

We draw glue along this contour.

And glue the hearts starting from the outermost one every centimeter. Glue only the edge of the heart.

We fold the workpiece along the last fold line, to which the outermost heart is glued.

We cut off the corners of the part of the workpiece that protrudes.

Place a thin strip (2 by 12 cm) of paper under the workpiece.

We bend the edges of this strip upward and glue the workpiece on top.

We completely stretch out the edge of the blank and glue a heart with a declaration of love to it.

If you choose the right colors, you can make a rainbow of hearts.

When we pull out the hearts, they scroll through on their own. You can write something else on each heart if you wish.

A simple card in the form of hearts for a girl (wife)

Handmade cards are all beautiful. And even those that can be made very easily and quickly! After all, the main thing is that we try for our loved ones, and in such an unusual way we confess our love to them. This heart with a surprise can be made in a minute.

You open it, and inside are pleasant words.

Fold the strip 7 by 29cm in half.

We bend each edge of this strip to the middle line.

And again we fold the edges of the workpiece in half towards the middle line.

Unbend all the folds. And move the left edge one fold to the right. We bend the base. We do the same with the right edge of the workpiece.

We bend these new fold lines upward.

You get 2 protruding parts on top of the workpiece.

We bend the corners, upper and lower, of these parts diagonally.

Bend each corner to form a triangle. To do this, the inside of the workpiece must be made narrower by bending the top and bottom of this part of the strip.

We bend the outer edges of the workpiece and tuck them underneath.

We bend 2 corners at the top on both edges of the workpiece. In the lower parts we bend one outer corner diagonally.

Fold over the top corner.

And so on every edge. If you turn it over you will see the halves of the heart.

Turn the workpiece over and fold the inner part of the workpiece into 4 equal parts.

From paper of a different color, cut out the letters “I” “L” “Y” and glue them to the inside.

When we open this card, spread the halves of the heart, we can read a declaration of love!

Paper hearts, voluminous

Volumetric paper hearts look interesting from all sides, no matter how you look at them. They can be hung, glued or attached to a shaped card. But first things first. Here are several options for making voluminous valentines with your own hands.

Paper heart using origami technique

Creating such a voluminous paper heart will not take much time. It can be either a small surprise for the holiday or a simple decorative element. To make it you only need square paper. The master class was prepared by Marina.

Photo 1.

First, fold the square in half in the transverse direction. Photo 2.

Then we unfold the square, placing it so that the fold is vertical. After this, we make a small hem at the bottom. Photo 3.

Now fold the workpiece in half. Photo 4.

Let's unfold it so that the half with a narrow fold is located on top. And let's start forming the heart. To do this, we will first make a fold on the right side. Photo 5.

Let's bend it symmetrically to the left. Photo 6.

Let's rotate the resulting triangle 180 degrees and make folds at the corners, bending them up and to the sides. Photo 7.

Let's straighten the folds we just made; we needed them in order to outline guidelines for subsequent work. Photo 8.

At the intersections of the resulting folds with the vertical lines, we make new folds of the side corners. Photo 9.

We bend the corners located below on the inside up and to the right. Photo 10.

Now they need to be hidden. To do this, we put the bent corners into the previously created pockets. Photo 11.

All that remains is to work on the final shape of our heart. Therefore, we make small folds in the corners. All of them are located on the wrong side of the workpiece. Photo 12.

We carefully inflate our heart through the hole located below. At the same time, we bend it slightly at the top. Our 3D paper heart is ready. Photo 13.

This craft can be made from paper of any color. Several voluminous hearts made according to the proposed master class will look good.

Another option is a heart, which can serve as a box for a small gift - master class:

Nice bookmark for a book - owl -

And 6 more options for voluminous paper hearts from Tatyana Yablonskaya.

Option 1

First we draw and cut out stencils: 5 hearts of different sizes.

Cut out hearts from colored double-sided pink paper. In this case, there should be one large one, and all the rest should be made in 2 pieces.

We fold all the paired pieces in half and leave the larger one unchanged.

Glue the hearts one on top of the other, placing them according to size. The large blank is in the middle, and smaller blanks are glued onto it. It turns out this voluminous heart made of paper:

Beautiful Valentine in 5 minutes:

Option 2

Cut out a red heart from thick cardboard.

Fold it in half and make cuts in the middle, as shown on the stencil. On one side of the line it is necessary not to cut to the edge.

Open the heart and bend the inner parts a little. It turns out a heart in volume.

An original origami heart with the message:

Option 3

Cut out a circle from red double-sided construction paper.

We fold it like an accordion (the width of the side does not exceed 10 mm).

Now fold the accordion in half and glue it in the center with double-sided tape or PVA glue. The result is an original three-dimensional heart.

You can also make a pink and raspberry heart.

Let's place them on the stand. To make it, you need to cut a long strip of colored cardboard and fold it like an accordion (2 cm side) not completely.

Glue multi-colored accordion hearts into the recesses of the orange stand.

Very cute hearts with flowers:

Option 4

Cut out a square from double-sided red construction paper. Fold it diagonally twice. And open it to its original position.

Bend the top corner towards the center.

We turn the bottom corner to the center of the top side.

We bend the right side to the center of the workpiece.

We do the same manipulations with the left side.

Then we turn the workpiece over to the wrong side and bend 4 corners into the middle. They can be fixed with glue.

Now turn it over to the front side. The volumetric heart using the origami technique is ready.

Another box with a heart:

Option 5

We cut out a lot of hearts from raspberry corrugated paper. Approximately 25 pieces.

We bend each piece in half and coat the fold line with PVA glue.

Glue all the parts together into a large pile.

When the outer pieces are glued together, you will get a voluminous heart with free edges.

And we will glue the pink hearts a little differently. We also fold all the blanks in half.

First we glue each of them in the center, as shown on the right. Then all the parts are glued together at three points with a drop of glue, as shown on the left.

When the glue dries and the craft sticks together using the outer pieces, you will get such a voluminous heart with intertwined edges.

Another video about a gorgeous lush heart:

Option 6

Now let’s make a beautiful stand for our hearts. Take two sheets of cardboard in contrasting shades. For example, red and lilac. Cut a circle in the middle on each sheet. We make cuts at the top and bottom: for the lilac piece we cut from the circle, and for the red piece the cuts are made from the edge.

We connect 2 blanks along the cut lines and unfold the sides. This makes such a great stand.

We tie strings to the hearts and place them in the middle of the circles. They look amazing!

If you want, you can decorate the stand with delicate flowers using the quilling technique. This way the craft will acquire additional charm.

As you can see, voluminous hearts look beautiful, lush and unusual.

How to make a chic heart with wings, watch in this video:

And another simple but original option:

Volumetric Valentine's Day card for mom

We will try to do something special for mom! Our card will be so cool, because we will make flowers inside the heart! It is better to choose contrasting colors for such crafts.

Fold a square with a side size of 8cm diagonally.

And once again fold the workpiece in half.

We turn both free edges of the workpiece at right angles to the opposite corner of the workpiece. One one way.

And the other one below.

Draw a petal on the free corner. Cut it out.

We unfold the workpiece.

We got a flower. You need 7 of these flowers. We paint the inner corners of the flowers (out of 8 parts we paint only 6).

Cut out one unpainted part. Apply glue to the second unpainted part.

Glue the edges of the flower together to make a three-dimensional flower.

Fold the flowers in half. Apply glue to the tops of the two outer petals.

Glue one blank on one side of the flower, and the second on the other.

Apply glue to the 3 middle petals of the structure that we have created and glue another blank.

Glue 1 flower.

Now we apply glue to the second and third, and then to the fifth and sixth petals.

Glue 2 blanks on both sides.

Glue the last piece onto the 3 middle petals. We unfold the structure.

Cut out 2 pieces in the shape of a heart. One of them is black, slightly smaller than the second, red.

Cut out half a heart from polka dot paper.

Glue the black blank inside the red one.

Glue half a heart on the outside of the red blank.

Glue a design of flowers inside the card. Glue only the middle petals to one side and to the other.

We decorate the outer part of the card with hearts made of petals, which were cut out in flowers.

It wouldn’t hurt to put inscriptions with declarations of love on a postcard!

Folding valentine

A very simple card that will take no more than five minutes to make. It is suitable not only for lovers, but also for mothers and fathers. Inside you can write declarations of love or just beautiful wishes. Before you make a valentine with your own hands from paper, prepare:

  • square sheet of double-sided colored paper;
  • scissors;
  • glue stick;
  • hot glue;
  • a simple pencil;
  • ruler;
  • scrapbooking sheets;
  • ribbon for decoration.

Let's start making:

  1. Fold the square sheet in half. We open it, turn it over and fold it again, marking the lines we need. Open it again and now fold it diagonally.
  2. We unfold the paper and bend the resulting diagonal lines in the opposite direction so that the sheet folds into an envelope. Iron the folds.
  3. Now let’s move on to the main detail – the heart. We unfold the workpiece again, fold it diagonally and draw part of the heart in the upper part. Cut out the excess part. When you open the sheet, you will see a whole heart. This time we fold the sheet in half, trace the heart and cut it out again.
  4. Unfold, fold in the opposite direction, trace around part of the heart and cut off the excess. Now we put the blank into an envelope. You should get a heart against a square background.
  5. Let's move on to decoration. We took a sheet of a different color, measured the square against the background and cut out another square, but 5 mm smaller. Let's glue it.
  6. We transfer the contours of the heart to the surface. Based on the resulting outline, draw a smaller heart. We try on the blank, if the size is suitable, we cut out two more such shapes of the same color and one from scrapbooking paper. You can make another small heart for decoration.
  7. Glue the hearts into place. The second figure should be on the outside of the card. If you have a special heart-shaped hole punch, you can use it for decoration.
  8. We make beautiful inscriptions inside the cards. And the last step is to glue the tape using hot glue. We tie a bow.

Valentine's Day Card for English Teacher

For a teacher, a postcard should be sincere, heartfelt, and at the same time, business-like and discreet. How to make such a Valentine card? I'll show you one interesting option. The card turned out just the right way so that the teacher would appreciate our attention to him.

Mark 5 cm from each edge of the sheet of paper. We draw lines at the top and bottom, retreating 5 cm from the edge. And we draw lines on the sides, retreating 5 and 10 cm from the edge.

Cut out squares on 4 corners.

We make further cuts of 5cm along the edges of the paper on one side and the other.

We bend the workpiece along the lines: from the bottom and from the top 1 time; on the sides - 2 times.

Bend the 2 corners at the bottom diagonally.

We bend down the edges of the corner that we got.

Unbend all the folds. And we fold it so that the corner lies under the two folded edges.

We do the same with the opposite side.

It turns out like this.

We trace half of the heart along the side edges of our main blank.

Cut off all excess, leaving only halves of the heart.

Glue the lower and upper curved parts to the side edges of the workpiece.

It makes a nice little box.

The top edges of the box, when folded, are connected and you get a heart!

Take a square sheet of paper. And fold it in half. Cut a heart out of it and cut it in half. Glue the halves to the top of the box.

Decorate the heart with festive decor.

Connect the halves of the heart. And we make holes in both halves.

We put a ribbon under the box.

We thread the edges of the ribbon into one and the second hole in the halves of the heart.

We tie a bow.

In such a box you can put valentines with congratulations in English. The teacher will definitely love this!

Original paper hearts for Valentine's Day + templates and patterns for cutting

Valentines can be very different. This is not always a folding postcard, although this form is the most common. So, for example, in the next master class we will learn how to make hearts on skewers. You can stick such a heart in a flower pot or put it in a pencil holder and admire it every day.

Before starting work you need to prepare:

  • Napkin;
  • Glue;
  • Wooden skewers;
  • Gift ribbon;
  • Scissors;
  • Colored paper;
  • Figured hole punchers; Watercolor or gouache + brush;
  • Double-sided colored cardboard;
  • Heart cutting template;
  • A piece of paper with the word “Valentine” (or text of congratulations) beautifully printed on it;
  • Quilling strips.

Subsequence:

Using shaped hole punches, we make small elements from colored paper to decorate a future craft: flowers, stars, etc. Then we take gouache or watercolor and paint a wooden skewer in the desired color (it is better to take red and pink shades).

Let the stick dry. If the lesson is carried out with a large group of children, it makes sense to attach a label with the child's name to each of them before sending the skewers to dry. Otherwise there will be confusion.

Next, we cut out a heart from double-sided colored cardboard using a pre-prepared template (you can find it on the Internet and print it out). It should match the color of the skewer.

We decorate the heart with paper figures made at the very beginning.

This is what we get.

Lubricate the blunt end of the stick with glue and attach it to the back of the heart.

We tie a ribbon at the base of the heart and curl it using scissors.

And then we attach the text of congratulations.

These are the wonderful valentines that come out in the end.

Such hearts look very cute in the interior.

It can be designed in completely different ways. For example, make a voluminous heart out of fabric.

Or use more formal wooden elements.
