A panel made of natural material is an original hand-made panel consisting of shells, leaves, branches, grains, flowers, various leathers, stones and much more that nature has given us. The art of decorating any corner of your home with “gifts of nature” can become an interior solution for any occasion. Each craft you create carries the meaning of the conceived idea, uniqueness and gives comfort, warmth and harmony in general.

History of creation

A varied interior with notes of uniqueness and mystery is, undoubtedly, inherent in man since ancient times. Decorative panels are one of the most ancient methods of decorating a living space that have survived to this day. For the first time, thematic pictures made of stone or painted on clay appeared on the walls of buildings many centuries ago.

Who first invented wall panels still remains unknown, but the idea of decorative panels has never gone out of fashion. Only the themes, methods of conveying art, color relationships and materials from which the masterpieces were made changed.

The execution of such paintings can be classified according to the theme of the image, seasonality, color scheme, different types of materials and even age restrictions. After all, we all know that there are no limits to creativity, and we start small.

Every child and his parents at least once in his life had to do crafts for kindergarten. But not everyone is involved in this topic, and not everyone can immediately do or come up with something on the go. I want something unusual, surprising and at the same time useful for the development of the child. That is why we offer you a small master class on how to make a beautiful and simple panel on the theme of autumn with your children. This is a fairly common theme, but with its help you can always find a way out of the situation and do something in this style, especially in the autumn.

Let's try to make a quick and simple openwork panel from natural materials

A magnificent panel on the theme “Autumn” can be built together with your child even in winter, if you stock up on a variety of natural materials. To work you will need:

  • any dry twigs of approximately the same length;
  • threads, preferably wool, bright and thicker;
  • strong ropes or threads for tying twigs;
  • any light natural material: leaves, moss, bark, dried flowers, spikelets.
  1. First you need to make a frame. To do this, take twigs and

tie them together with ropes or threads to make a square. Although the shape is not important here, you can tie the branches in the shape of a triangle or rectangle.

  1. Then we attach a bright woolen thread to one end of the resulting frame and begin to wrap the branches, pulling the thread. We wrap the frame to the end and fix the end.
  1. When the thread mesh is ready, let your child take the initiative in arranging the natural material and creating a unique composition. Your autumn masterpiece is ready!

"Autumn Leaf"

The master class, presented in the form of the “decoupage” technique, will seem complicated at first glance, but in fact it is very simple to perform and the end result will delight you and your children. Our task is to provide the child with creative activity, develop a sense of taste and style, and also cultivate accuracy and perseverance when doing work.

We will need:

  • small wooden board;
  • acrylic colored paints;
  • decoupage glue;
  • ordinary napkins;
  • brush;
  • scissors, pencil;
  • scotch.

Let's look at the execution scheme.

First, we select a wooden blank for the panel. This can be any small board or chipboard (chipboard), well cleaned and polished, for example, with sandpaper.

Print or draw the silhouette of a maple leaf and cut it out with scissors.

Place the sheet on the board and carefully spread the glue evenly over the entire sheet. Let's dry it.

We outline the approximate silhouette of a leaf on a napkin with a pencil, and then, drawing along the line with a damp cotton swab, we easily tear out the desired motif.

Glue a napkin on top with decoupage glue and let it dry.

Apply colors with a semi-dry brush to the ribs. You can cover the entire background, at your discretion.

You can supplement the work with inscriptions with paint, natural dried leaves (if any), attach decorative sand, tree branches (there are some outside in any weather) and so on.

Autumn theme for adults

We also invite adults to make their own panel called “Autumn Mood.” A successful combination of this composition and natural material, allowing you to convey the mood and colors of autumn. This type of activity develops spatial thinking, imagination and taste. The product will serve as a wonderful gift, as well as an ideal interior design solution for your home!

  • glue gun;
  • tree branches, dried leaves;

Unusual autumn crafts for school

But unusual autumn crafts for school are made from a variety of materials, the main thing is to choose a suitable theme, for example, we have already made an autumn tree with our own hands, a step-by-step master class with photos explained to you which beads are best to use, and it is the remains of such beads that can be used for applications. Girls really like working with beads, so mommy can tell her daughter about this type of creativity.

Making mosaics from beads is easy, but at the same time, this activity promotes the development of perseverance, accuracy and fine motor skills. When choosing motifs for appliqué, you should not choose ones with a lot of small details; they will be difficult to complete. For the “Autumn” motif we chose a folk pattern – Khokhloma. If you cannot redraw it, then you can print out the drawing and transfer it to paper; you need to take a thick sheet of cardboard so that the applique holds securely.

We will need beads of red, yellow, orange, gold (or others, depending on the pattern you choose). We will also use Dragon glue, a pencil is needed for the outline of the drawing, and a black gel pen.

When we have the Khokhloma motif ready, we can proceed to the main stage of the appliqué. For the stems and leaves we will use terracotta, olive and matte orange beads. For a bunch of viburnum, a combination of matte and shiny red, red, orange, scarlet. The main contours should be outlined with black paste, then all pencil lines should be wiped off.
