The pre-wedding days are filled with pleasant chores and important matters. You need to take care of the venue for the celebration, choose beautiful outfits for the bride and groom, and create charming flower arrangements. A lot of worries are associated with choosing a wedding bouquet.
The attribute should match the style of the wedding and set off the bride’s outfit. Any large-scale celebration or holiday with the family is not complete without a charming bouquet. Basically, fresh flowers are used to make it. However, modern brides are increasingly giving preference to artificial materials for creating wedding compositions. One of these materials is foamiran.
Products made from such raw materials do not cause allergies, retain their attractive appearance for a long time, and do not deteriorate when exposed to cold temperatures. A bride's bouquet made from foamiran can be an excellent addition to your home interior after the wedding.
Foamiran: what is it?
Foamiran (in other words, revelour) is foam rubber that feels and looks similar to suede. But foamiran has higher plasticity and pliability . From it you can create any flowers and plants you want and put together a stunningly beautiful bouquet.
Foamiran is sold in any craft store at a very low price. The finished material for creativity is thin sheets painted in different colors
This material has a number of advantages :
- it is easy to cut with ordinary stationery scissors, while the edges remain even and smooth, so there is no need to further process them;
- foamiran can be painted over well with pastel chalk or acrylic paint, so you can create flowers of any shade;
- foamiran, after heating with a regular iron, quickly changes shape , and after cooling remains in it (to slightly change the shape of the material, even the warmth of your hands is enough);
- the material does not lose its brightness in the sun and is not afraid of moisture, so flowers and other crafts can be wiped from dust with a towel or wet wipes.
The only disadvantage we can name is that when the foamiran sheet is strongly stretched, it becomes deformed, so you should be careful while working.

Workshops on creating flowers
Below are the simplest and most understandable video tutorials with a step-by-step action plan for creating flowers with your own hands.
Wedding crocuses
In order to create a dream bouquet with crocuses, you must follow these steps:
- Make your own petal pattern from paper or buy the appropriate molds.
- The pattern is applied to the foamiran, after which you can use a toothpick to cut out the petals (6 for one flower).
- When the petals of different colors are ready, they need to be heated with an iron and pressed onto corrugated paper, creating the effect of veins.
- Using dry pastels, you need to tint the bottom of each petal.
- A rectangle (2.5x3 cm) is cut out of yellow foamiran, after which one of its sides is cut into a fringe.
- Next, you should cut the wire measuring 12-14 cm.
- The cut out rectangle that will serve as the pestle is glued to the wire.
- 3 stamens and the first row of 3 petals are glued to the pistil.
- The second row of petals is glued between the first.
- From green foamiran you need to cut out two oblong leaves, which also need to be heated with an iron, giving them the desired shape. Next, the leaves are glued to the previously created flowers.
Swimsuits for the bride
A bouquet of swimsuits is suitable for romantic natures, and to create it you can use this master class:
- Using a mold, cut out the petals of the appropriate shape. You can make them yourself by folding a rectangular piece of foamiran several times.
- From light yellow material, cut strips 3.5 cm long, 8 mm wide, 4 cm long.
- Both strips are cut with fringe.
- The fringe folds and rolls tightly between the fingers.
- Using a template, cut out leaves from green foamiran.
- Heat the petals with an iron, after which they are given the desired shape.
- The petals are painted with brown pastel.
- Next, the leaves are heated, and the girl herself will have to give them the desired shape.
- A light yellow fringe is screwed onto the wire and fixed with glue.
- All petals are attached to the wire one by one.
- The wire itself must be wrapped in green tape, and only after that the petals must be attached to it.
To make the bouquet look interesting and beautiful, the bride will have to create about 12-15 flowers.
Features of bouquets made of foamiran
Modern florists have already included foamiran bouquets, including wedding ones, in their list of services. A traditional bridal bouquet of fresh flowers is also good, but an artificial one is in many ways not inferior to it, and sometimes even superior.
it starts to rain or snow during the holiday , or if the wind picks up. Therefore, for a wedding, a bouquet made of this material is a guarantee that it will last until the night, regardless of the time of year.
It is noteworthy that a bouquet of foamiran is not tied to the seasons, so even in winter you can make it up from bells or daisies
It is important that foamiran does not cause allergies and is absolutely non-toxic. Therefore, a bouquet can be composed of those flowers that have a strong, intrusive aroma.
A wedding bouquet with flowers made from foamiran will delight you with its fresh appearance throughout the holiday and will not wither by the end of the evening. Therefore, you will not need to use various tricks with cones or sponges with water, as is the case with fresh flowers.
Foamiran is sold ready-made in a wide variety of colors. There are also white sheets that you can color as you wish and make a bouquet in the color scheme that is present in the wedding decoration, even if such colors do not exist in nature.
From foamiran material you can create the most complex inflorescences, as well as fantasy plants that do not exist at all. Thus, the bride will have an absolutely unique bouquet that will never be repeated at another wedding.

Foamiran at a wedding: making a comb for the bride
In addition to bouquets from foamiran, you can make a lot of elements to decorate the bride’s hairstyle and the interior of the hall, such as a comb or hairpins.
A foamiran comb looks very beautiful to decorate a bride's hairstyle.
At weddings, huge wreaths made of foamiran are often used to decorate the wedding ceremony hall. To make them, you can use ready-made kits or assemble each element yourself.
A comb matched to the tone and texture of the bouquet will look beautiful. For example, a hairpin made of the same flowers will suit a composition of chrysanthemums. To make such a hair decoration with your own hands, you need to make three flowers according to the master class described above. They can be all cream in color or combined with lilac flowers. Next, the chrysanthemums are glued to the base and decorated with pearl beads placed on a fishing line. To give the product a more festive look, you can decorate it with a metal flower with rhinestones. You can also complement your hairstyle with hairpins with chrysanthemums, but for these purposes you will have to make the flowers 2-3 times smaller than for a bouquet or comb.
Types of bouquets from foamiran
Foamiran flowers are almost impossible to distinguish from living plants. This quality of the material allows you to create a bouquet for a wedding, but in order for it to be beautiful and fit harmoniously into the holiday, you need to pay attention to some points.
The most important thing is to make a bouquet in accordance with the color scheme of the wedding decoration and the outfits of the bride and groom
When the main shades have been determined, you need to choose what shape the bouquet will be:
- Flowers in a porta bouquet . For a bouquet in a special stand with a handle, you will only need to create buds and leaves for decoration. This option is suitable if you need to create a strict, classic composition.
- Bouquet with stems . The stems are also made of foamiran, supplemented with wire for strengthening. This type of bouquet is suitable for brides whose image will be somewhat informal.
If the latter option is chosen, then the stems additionally need to be secured with a wide ribbon or fabric (lace) bandage so that the bouquet does not fall apart during a dance or photo shoot.

- From this material you can make a duplicate bouquet that is thrown to unmarried girls, decorations for a wedding hairstyle (comb, hairpin, hoop, wreath) and a boutonniere for the groom, in harmony with the bride’s bouquet.
- Do you want to please your girlfriends with small gifts? Make mini bouquets for them from foamiran.
- Place compositions made from foamiran on the tables; they will delight you with their “freshness” and beauty until the end of the festive evening! In addition, based on this material, you can make a bright photo zone or backwall at the newlyweds’ table.
- Decorate your wedding cortege with foamiran flowers, which can be attached to the hood or handles of the car.
- Floral elements from this unique material can be used to decorate wedding accessories: glasses, “Home” candles, ring cushions and much more.

Interesting options for bridal bouquets made from foamiran
A bride's wedding bouquet made of foamiran can consist of a variety of flowers that the bride desires. But some plants have already become classics and are used most often to create wedding flower arrangements.
What flowers can a bouquet of foamiran consist of:
- Peonies are becoming increasingly popular, displacing traditional roses. Plastic material will allow you to create lush inflorescences that emphasize the tenderness and romance of the bride’s image.
- From roses - to create beautiful bouquets, you must use ready-made stencils to cut out parts of the desired shape.
- Orchids are light and attractive flowers that are distinguished by their nobility. Luxuriously beautiful flowers will give the bouquet an airy character, so it is ideal for a special wedding.
- From forest, wild or meadow flowers , delicate plants will best highlight the delicate image of a young bride. From foamiran, you can create lilies of the valley, bells, cornflowers or swimsuits with your own hands, which will look as realistic as possible.
For those who are throwing an original holiday, a bouquet of exotic flowers, for example, African iris or Cape chamomile, is suitable. It is better to entrust their creation to a professional, as he will be better able to cope with the complex shape of the inflorescences.

Elegant bouquet of chrysanthemums
The easiest way is to make a mono-composition from plastic suede. This will allow you to spend less time on templates and create all flowers using the same technology. An interesting option is chrysanthemums, which are very lush and look naturalistic. In this case, even an inexperienced craftswoman can make a bride’s wedding bouquet from foamiran.
You will need:
- Iranian revelour in several shades and olive for leaves;
- dry pastel;
- floral wire, D1mm;
- porta bouquet holder;
- foam ball, D15 cm;
- satin and nylon ribbons;
- iron;
- heat gun.
There are several varieties of foamiran, but the Iranian one is considered universal, ideal for flower making.
Its thickness should be 0.8 - 1 mm. Then the finished products will retain their shape for a long time, recovering after deformation, wetting or heating. For delicate buds, such as apple, cherry or jasmine, you can use thinner foamiran sheets, 0.5 mm thick. Only the petals made from them straighten over time.
Chinese foam, which needlewomen love mainly for its low cost, is not always of the proper quality. However, its silk and marshmallow varieties are not inferior to Iranian samples. Typically, experienced craftsmen use both Iranian and Chinese revelure for flowers, thus skilfully saving money without sacrificing quality.
The process of making and assembling a bouquet arrangement:
From cardboard we will make 3 hexagon templates D4, 5 and 6 cm.
Let's number them 1, 2 and 3 accordingly.
For one chrysanthemum you will need:
- No. 1 – 4 pcs.;
- No. 2 and No. 3 – 3 pcs.
Flowers of a darker shade, in this case a lilac shade, remain in the minority so that the arrangement does not look too bright. There will be 9 of them. We make the rest – white and cream (or other pastel colors to your taste) in any quantity.
We cut the foamiran into strips, the width of which corresponds to the diameter of each of the three templates. We apply hexagons of cardboard and fold the material so that it can be easily picked up by scissors. We cut out the blanks from the revelour, and then make notches on them with scissors, highlighting the petals. We move from the top to the center of the figure.
Then use nail scissors with curved ends to round the edges of the petals. Parts of the blanks according to template No. 1 will need to be given a lush “terry” appearance. To do this, we make 2 additional cuts on the petals, taking into account the rounded shape, as shown in the photo.
Flowers are rarely completely monochromatic. Toward the center they change color to a lighter color or even become a different shade. This natural gradation can be conveyed using pastels. This is the best choice when working with foam.
It is recommended to use oil pastels, since they penetrate deeply into the material and are fixed in it without being washed off with water or fading.
But it will be difficult for novice craftswomen to shade the applied pigment - they will need solvents for oil paints, which have a specific smell. Therefore, at first it is worth resorting to dry pastels. It is applied in a thick layer to a damp cloth and then rubbed into the foam.
You can also paint the material directly, shading the pigment with your finger, if the pastel is soft enough and leaves a bright mark. The edges of the petals are also tinted, giving them volume.
In order for the flower preparations to acquire a natural shape, they must be heated. Usually an iron, an embossing hair dryer, a candle or a lighter are used. The first method is the most accessible and convenient. We set the iron regulator to the “Wool” position and, when the sole heats up, apply a foamiran blank to it. Seeing that the product decreases in size and begins to lag behind the metal surface, we remove it and quickly fold it into a “bud”.
We roll the future flower between the thumbs and forefingers of both hands, squeezing it with force and as if twisting it. We repeat the procedure many times, thinning the material and giving it a natural “folding”. We proceed in the same way with all blanks.
We cut out the leaves from 8x5 cm rectangles of olive color. We place the blank on the mold of any plant. We heat the foam on an iron, and then press it firmly against the veins of the mold. It must be made of hard material, otherwise the print will be smudged.
To emphasize the structure of the leaf, we tint it with dark green pastel. We stretch and bend the edges, giving them the waviness characteristic of real greenery.
Let's start assembling the chrysanthemum. We glue the first piece from template No. 1 onto a piece of floral wire, 7–8 cm long. We cut the next fragment with petals in half and glue the bud on both sides. Then we proceed according to the same scheme, gradually increasing the size of the workpieces. We gather the petals at the base a little. We make sure that the chrysanthemum is symmetrical and moderately open.
In total you need to make about 30 inflorescences.
We take out the floral sponge from the porta bouquet holder, remove the top mesh and attach a polystyrene foam hemisphere in its place. For fixation we use hot glue and nylon tape.
We cut off the wire “stems” of chrysanthemums. We distribute the buds evenly over the foam, interspersing them with leaves folded in half. The finished bouquet can be decorated with beads.
We mask the lower part of the arrangement with a double “skirt” made of corrugated paper and tulle. We decorate the leg of the portaquet with satin ribbon and lace.
