Beautiful knitted scarf for a woman. Diagram with description of mohair, sectional, thick yarn

If you think that a scarf is a boring elastic band, knitting which simply involves alternating knit and purl stitches on knitting needles, then you are behind the times.

Can you knit? Publish your work on knitka.ru

Now in fashion are many openwork stoles, snoods, collars, scarves, hoods, etc., made using different techniques with knitting needles. There are interesting models for men, women, and children.

Scarves are transformed from a piece of clothing into fashion accessories and decorations that complement the character of the image. Hahd-made items are trending. This means that beautiful multi-color patterns, original satin stitch, elegant openwork and classic elastic must be knitted with your own hands. A huge selection of modern types of threads, knitting needles of the required diameter and the desire to surprise everyone with an original new thing - all this will help you create a masterpiece.

Variety of products

Almost any outerwear can be decorated with an exclusive scarf knitted with knitting needles:

  • Traditional, knitted with an elastic band. The elastic can be simple, American, patent, false, double, etc. (It must be taken into account that when knitting with an English elastic, the thread consumption increases by more than one and a half times)
  • With braids or Iranian arans.
  • Openwork stole.
  • With tassels or pom-poms.
  • Multi-layered with flounces.
  • A chic French scarf.
  • Demi-season cotton or linen.
  • Jacquard and Scandinavian.
  • Massive boucle.
  • Multicolor using brioche knitting technique and others.

Hooded scarf with mesh pattern

This model can be worn in spring and autumn. The scarf will turn out to be openwork and will serve as an additional accessory more than an item of clothing that protects from the cold.

To work you will need:

  • a skein of “Sonata” threads (50% wool, 50% acrylic) weighing 300 g;
  • hook No. 4.5;
  • marker for marking;
  • scissors.

How to knit:

  1. Cast on a chain of 18 VPs.
  2. Knit 1 row of PS.
  3. Start row with 5 ch for lifting. Knit 5 more VPs and 1 dc. Alternate the combination until the end of the row.
  4. The next rows are knitted by analogy. The length of the finished scarf is 150 cm.
  5. Now the product is folded in half and the middle is marked with a marker. They put 25 cm on both sides and knit this section of PS.
  6. Next, following points No. 3 and 4, you need to knit a square 30 cm high.
  7. The hood is folded in half and the upper parts of the PS are connected.

The edges of the scarf and hood need to be tied with PS.

Yarn selection

Yarn and knitting needles can be anything depending on the model of the product and the season. There is only one mandatory requirement - that it is not prickly and pleasant to the skin. The classic style principle states that the scarf should match the headdress in color and texture. We must not forget that the shade of the product should suit the person. It’s even better if it’s a couple of shades lighter or darker than the outerwear item. Although some looks need bright, eye-catching colors for the accessory.

  • Warm and cozy winter products are made from wool and half-woolen threads: mohair, angora, cashmere, down or alpaca. Openwork stoles look good made from thin and light 100% merino yarn.
  • For demi-season models, cotton or linen are suitable.
  • Knitting children's scarves, of course, involves bright colors and a gentle texture.

Unisex models

A scarf with buttons is relevant for both women and their halves.

In nature, there are many models, colors and styles that are equally used by both sexes.

For men. For those who love practicality, a scarf with buttons is a real find. After all, with the help of such a fastener, it is easy to adjust the position of the scarf on the neck.

Hooded scarf with pockets

A crocheted hood scarf (patterns and descriptions of similar models may differ from each other depending on the pattern) with pockets will help warm not only your head and neck, but also your hands.

It's easy to knit. Beginners should choose a simple pattern to make it easier.

To work you will need:

  • skein of Sonata threads (50% wool, 50% acrylic) weighing 600 g;
  • hook No. 4.5;
  • special marker for marking;
  • tape measure;
  • sewing threads and a thick large needle with a blunt end;
  • scissors.

First you need to knit a scarf without a hood. You should cast on a chain of 30 VPs and knit until the length of the product reaches 200 cm.

Pattern repeat:

  1. Start the row with 4 VP. Alternate skipping 4 VPs and 2 Dcs, knitted into every 5th loop of the row.
  2. In the new row, knit, alternating 2 dcs and an arch of 4 ch.
  3. Knit all subsequent rows, alternating steps from steps 1 and 2.
  4. At the end of the work, secure the thread with a knot and cut off the excess.

How to knit a hood:

  1. First you need to find the middle of the knitted scarf and mark it with a marker.
  2. From this point, you should pick up so many loops so that you get 25 in both directions. The result will be a strip about 50 cm in length.
  3. Next you need to knit in the same pattern as the scarf itself. The exact number of rows does not matter. The canvas should be about 30 cm high.
  4. Now the workpiece needs to be folded in half with the front side inward. The upper parts of the hood must be sewn together with regular threads using a needle. Turn the work inside out.

Now you need to process the edges of the hood.

The harness consists of 3 rows:

  1. Knit the first row to the end of the dc.
  2. Knit ST2/N to the end of the row, placing the hook behind the back wall of the fabric and the front one in turn.
  3. Work a row of sc.

The pockets of this model are not knitted separately. The edges of the scarf need to be folded 15 cm and the side seams connected. You can crochet them or use sewing thread and a needle.

If you still want to knit the pockets separately, then you need to measure the width of the scarf and make a chain of VP of the same length. Then you should measure the length of your palms. It is important that the pockets are deep, otherwise they will not warm your hands.

You will need to knit 2 rectangles according to the measurements taken, and then sew them to the edges of the product. You can use sewing threads or knit seams with PS or crawfish stitches.

How to knit a beautiful scarf with knitting needles, ideas from the Internet

Length -150 cm. Width -30 cm.

Cast on 50 loops, the number of loops should be a multiple of 3+2 edge loops.

  • First row – k3, p3. alternate
  • We continue to knit 4 rows according to the pattern
  • Row 5 - 1 yarn over, knit 3 loops together (slip 1 loop, knit the 2nd and 3rd loops together behind the front wall and pull through the first) then 1 yarn over and 3 knits.
  • Row 6 according to the drawing.

We finish all rows with a purl loop.

When the length of the desired product is sufficient, close the loops and sew with a needle.

Beautiful knitted scarf with cones from Irina

We cast on 32 loops, plus one edge at the edges, knit with a 30 cm “Bumps” pattern. Then we double the number of loops, knitting new loops from broaches and knit 70-80 cm in stockinette stitch, i.e. front rows, all the loops are knitted, purlwise rows, purl all stitches.

In the last row, add one more loop after the first edge and before the last edge = 66 loops. Next we knit with the “Bumps” pattern 15 cm. Close the loops. Now you need to fold the long part with the pattern in half and sew the edge to the scarf, thus creating a loop. This is a diagram of the bump pattern. The number of loops should be divided by 8 plus edge loops.

Scarf-hood with ears

A crocheted hood scarf (patterns and descriptions will help you connect repeating elements with the same ones) with ears is a fun model suitable for adults and children.

To work you will need:

  • 2 skeins of Alpine Alpaca yarn (15% wool, 30% acrylic, 55% alpaca) in different colors;
  • hook No. 5 and 6.5;
  • markers;
  • sewing threads and needle.

First you need to knit a scarf. To do this, use a thread of the same color and hook No. 5 to create a chain of 170 VPs. Then knit 1 row of dc, and the next 8 rows of dc by placing the hook behind the back wall of the fabric.

How to knit a hood:

  1. Use a marker to mark the middle of the scarf. Set aside 25 cm pieces in each direction. Knit this row of PS using hook No. 6.5.
  2. 2 VP, then knit a row to the end of the DC. Complete the chain 2 VP.
  3. 2 VP, knit a row to the end of ST2/N.
  4. Alternate steps 2 and 3 until the end of knitting the hood. You should get a square 35 cm high.
  5. Fold the hood in half and sew the upper parts with sewing threads.

Now you need to tie the 2 ears separately. For work, use yarn of a different color and hook No. 5.

  1. Cast on a chain of 10 VPs.
  2. Knit 1 sc into the 3rd loop from the edge. Then knit a row to the end of the DC.
  3. Knit a new row with sc.
  4. 1 VP, then 2 RLS together from 1 point. Alternate the combination until the end of the row.
  5. Knit sc to the end of the chain and the next 4 rows in the same way.
  6. Tie PS ear.

By analogy, tie the other ear. Sew the ears to the hood with threads. The ends of the scarf can be decorated with a pattern in the form of cat's paws. To do this you will need to knit 8 small circles and 2 large ones.

Small circle:

  1. Make an amigurami ring and knit 9 sc through it.
  2. Knit the next row from 18 RLS.
  3. Knit the final row with PS.

Big circle:

  1. Make an amigurumi ring, 2 hdc, then 1 dc. Knit 2 more hdcs, 2 dcs and 1 hdc. Complete the row with a connecting column.
  2. Work 1 sc, 1 hdc, 2 dc. Alternate until the end of the row.
  3. 2 VP, then 1 hdc in 1 loop. Work 3 dc in the next stitch, then 1 hdc in the next 2 stitches.
  4. 2 dc in next 2 sts from edge of row. Knit sc to the end of the row.

When the circles are ready, they need to be sewn onto the edges of the scarf. Large circles are placed at the bottom, and small 4 circles at the top.

Pockets can be added to this model. Since the scarf is long, its edges can be folded 15 cm and the seams can be finished. Then the applique in the form of cat's paws needs to be sewn onto the pockets on top.

Openwork

Openwork scarves, knitted for women, are very beautiful and elegant, emphasizing their natural beauty and femininity. To knit such products, you can use both yarn containing mohair and threads containing different percentages of wool. For this type of pattern, you can also use knitting needles 2-3 sizes larger or choose thinner ones.

This is determined individually at will. To make a scarf according to the presented pattern, you need to decide on the pattern repeat. It is 12 loops in width and 11 rows in height. By choosing parameters similar to the previous product (length 150 cm and width 45+ cm), the yarn consumption will also be about 150 g.

The symbols of this scheme will be the following:

  • vertical line - front loop;
  • circle - yarn over;
  • triangle - 3 loops together with the front one;
  • triangle pointing to the right - 2 knit stitches together;
  • triangle directed to the left - 2 crossed loops, that is, tilted to the left.

Having cast the calculated number of loops, also very carefully following the pattern, knit in a pattern to the required length. After finishing knitting, close all loops. Tie as desired.

The following pattern also features an openwork pattern that would look great in a women's scarf or stole. For its implementation, lighter types of yarn are preferred, since it is intended not so much for weather conditions, but to complete a stylish look. It may not be as long and wide as previous options, and can serve as decoration for a suit or dress.

To knit a scarf 35-40 cm wide and 130 cm long, you will need about 100 g of yarn containing a small percentage of mohair or wool. A thread consisting of cotton, viscose, thin acrylic with lurex will be relevant. The repeat width of this pattern is 16 loops, the height is 16 rows.

This scheme involves already familiar symbols:

  • face loop;
  • yarn over;
  • 2 knit stitches slanted to the left;
  • 2 crossed loops with the front or tilted to the right.

Having decided on the width of the scarf, knit carefully according to the pattern to the desired length. When finished, close all loops. If desired, tie the product. Carry out a wet-heat treatment, and the scarf is ready for use.

From sectional yarn

Scarves knitted from sectional yarn, even with the simplest pattern or without it, will also be good because of the color component of the thread itself. Moving from one color to another, it creates its own unique pattern.

If a needlewoman has extensive experience working with this type of yarn, she can, having determined the desired width of the product at which the color repeat of the thread will be repeated, select a complex openwork pattern for it. But this will be quite difficult for beginners to achieve.

Therefore, for scarves made from sectional yarns, it is recommended either not to use patterns at all, or to use very simple geometric ones. They will not get lost among the color sections of the thread. The presented schemes are not at all difficult to implement. They involve only knit and purl stitches.

How to knit an openwork scarf

To make the model you will need tool No. 2 and 100% acrylic. It's better to use 1 color. How to knit a simple openwork scarf:

  1. Tie ordinary 3-4 centimeter columns and close them in a circle.
  2. Make simple single crochet stitches in a circle every 0.5 centimeters.
  3. Tie a braid around them, then repeat the action.
  4. Knit simple double crochets of 1-2 centimeters and close them in an openwork circle, forming petals.
  5. Knit several similar colors to form a whole product.
  6. Connect all the elements together.

Knitted mohair scarf

This tutorial will teach you how to make a mohair scarf using knitting needles. Such products have gained popularity because they have undeniable advantages, that is, they are soft and airy, durable and easy to paint. The fabric retains heat and will not cause an allergic reaction.

Types of mohair scarves

Scottish models

A variety of knitting techniques allows needlewomen to create different types of neck accessories from mohair. Modern designers recognize Scottish models in large checks or stripes as the most fashionable. If in Scotland the color of the fabric is determined by the product’s belonging to one or another clan, then for you and me it is only the aesthetics of the scarf.

Indian scarf

Its coloring is reminiscent of Scottish, but differs in shades. Such models are knitted wide, but from very thin threads. These are predominantly men's accessories, but women can also wear them if combined correctly with clothing.

English elastic models

Such scarves are dense, so they are worn in the cold season. The canvas turns out voluminous, as in the attached picture.

A simple pattern looks impressive if it is made from a thread that has sectional dyeing.

This relief design looks great in color or plain.

Gossamer scarves made from kid mohair

This type of yarn is made from the wool of Angora goats, which are up to 6 months old.

Possessing softness, kid mohair allows craftswomen to form airy gossamer scarves that have large round loops. The original knitted fabric with holes really resembles the finest spider web. This accessory is usually made wide and long so that it can be used at any time of the year.

Openwork scarf with knitting needles in a frosty pattern

The proposed master class talks about knitting a spectacular mohair scarf with a pattern that resembles beautiful frosty patterns.

It is formed by even holes connected according to a pattern. To work, you will need silk-based mohair threads so that the product holds its shape well. In addition, prepare knitting needles No. 4 and hook No. 2.5. Before starting work, knit a sample to determine the number of cast-on loops.

The needlework pattern is simple and accessible for beginning craftswomen. In the first one you see that the repeat of the border pattern is 9 loops and 12 rows. With its help, the extreme zones of the scarf are made. Then consider the second pattern, which creates a pattern in the center of the stole.

Everywhere even rows are made with purl stitches. The pattern from the first pattern serves as a frame, and the central part resembles delicate tree branches covered in fluffy snowflakes.

It is no secret that the greatest delight and tender trepidation are caused by precisely those things that are created by the talented hands of a craftswoman, winning not only the envious glances of random passers-by, but also popularity in the modern world.

A mohair scarf is no exception, forcing needlewomen to go to the Internet again and again to find knitting patterns again.

So what is the appeal and specialness of scarf and mohair? How can I give him a long and bright life, making both myself and those around me happy?

Typically, making a mohair scarf requires yarn and a pair of regular knitting needles. When choosing yarn, do not forget that not only the color is important, but also the thickness of the thread.

Do you want to knit a warm, dense product? Then it is better to pay attention to a thick fluffy thread and a pair of thin knitting needles.

But for knitting an openwork mohair scarf, the best choice is a thin thread and thick knitting needles, which give the work incomparable lightness and breathtaking beauty.

Features and nature of knitting a scarf

Alas, knitting from mohair does not tolerate frequent mistakes - threads clinging to each other often get tangled, creating real sea knots, which are not always possible to master. Therefore, it is better to work out new or difficult aspects of knitting a mohair scarf on a special sample, avoiding unnecessary waste of your own nerves and the required material.

Mohair yarn is not only considered the warmest material, but also the most harmless - its fibers do not cause allergies, and mohair scarves are bright and, of course, light.

Washing and necessary care

A mohair scarf, knitted with knitting needles, like most handmade products, prefers extremely careful hand washing in warm or cool water. Only hot water and excessively strong friction will be harmful, which makes the thing stretched or, on the contrary, contributes to its narrowing, changing the carefully given shape in every possible way.

To avoid all kinds of damage to such delicate and fragile work during delicate machine washing, it is better to place it in a small fabric bag, in which nylon tights or mesh underwear are usually washed. A small addition of glycerin and foamy shampoo helps soften and reduce wear on your favorite item, and the duo of vinegar and citric acid maintains the durability of the deep color range.

Have you ever wanted to please yourself with a terribly beautiful and simple mohair scarf, which will serve as another reason for the crystal-white envy of others and a good help for the exciting process of knitting? Then this small, fairly easy master class on knitting a scarf with a “heart” pattern will surely appeal to you.

To begin with, use thin knitting needles to cast on about seventy stitches, adjusting the width of the future work.

It is better to knit the first two rows in knit stitch. The first nine loops will also be knitted with it.

Next, you should knit two more facial loops (LP) together with the faces. tilt to the left and yarn over (H). Remember to repeat the pattern throughout the entire width of the mohair scarf. All even rows repeat the previous ones, starting with the purl loop.

At the third stage, knitting involves the following sequence: yarn over, two loops tilted to the left, five loops, two loops tilted to the left, and two more loops. The pattern also requires repetition.

The fifth row is an LP, H, two LP with a slant to the right, three LP, two LP with a turn to the left, a double crochet and three LP.

The seventh row is also knitted quite simply, it consists of: three LPs, two LPs tilted to the left, and six LPs. Are you done? Then it’s time to start repeating – the eighth row.

  • But the ninth line is much more difficult to knit, containing: two LP, two LP with a turn to the left, yarn over, LP, two LP together with a slant to the right and four LP.
  • The pattern, as a rule, ends with the eleventh row or the subsequent twelfth row, which consists of: LP, two LP together with a tilt to the left, yarn over, three LP, yarn over, two facial loops together with a tilt to the right and three LP.
  • Do not forget to repeat the pattern and lines, achieving an incredibly beautiful and elegant result that, with proper care and gentle patience, the needlewoman will continue to surround you and your loved ones with their own warmth, tart care and sentimental tenderness, once again reminding you that the best gift is the one that is made by hand.
